The Heavenly Gates

It is the practice in most churches here in England and Wales, that women are allowed to pray in prayer meetings. A practice which, I believe, is unbiblical. But last week, in a church up in one of the valleys in our area, an old, sweet Christian lady, Edith Jones, got up and prayed. She prayed the words of Psalm 100. Having uttered, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise, be thankful unto Him and bless His Name,” she took a breath - - - and that was her last upon earth. There and then she entered into His courts, and the thanks in her heart she poured out before the throne.

It reminds one that we are all just one breath away from eternity and glory. Her last breath on earth was followed by her first breath in Heaven. And we are forcibly reminded by such incidents that our breath is in His Hands.
